CST 499 Week 6
Team Progress and Milestones
This week, we achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the project integration for all three of our machine learning components. Our focus shifted from independent development to creating a cohesive and functional system. We also made substantial progress on the front-end, implementing most of the clinical demos to visually showcase our models' capabilities.
Furthermore, we've largely built the framework for our final video presentation. This includes creating the slides and outlining the content for each of our three subprojects, setting us up for a strong final showcase.
Plan for Next Week
Next week is dedicated to finalizing our deliverables and preparing for the final presentation. Our main goals are to:
Finalize the presentation: We'll be polishing the slides and ensuring the narrative flows smoothly for our audience.
Finalize the project: We will conduct a final review of the entire system to address any last-minute bugs or inconsistencies.
Begin recording the videos: After the project is finalized, we will start recording the video segments for our presentation.
Challenges Faced
While we've made excellent progress, we have faced a couple of challenges.
Aligning module outputs: Integrating the outputs from our independently developed subprojects required careful coordination and some re-engineering of preprocessing and formatting steps to ensure a unified system. We have decided to address this by dropping Streamlit caching in favor of saving our trained models directly within the project, which alleviates fragmented resource limitations and streamlines our workflow.
Summarizing project scope: Condensing the scope of our three subprojects into a concise format for a 9-minute presentation without oversimplifying is a challenge we're currently tackling. Fortunately, a team member was able to get our presentation time extended from 6 to 9 minutes after reaching out to Dr. Su, which should allow us to effectively showcase our work.
We are actively managing these challenges and do not require instructor assistance at this time.
