It’s strange to be at the end of this journey. When I started this program, my understanding of computer science was largely theoretical. I knew the concepts, the algorithms, and the data structures, but the tangible, real-world applications felt distant. Now, looking through my own blog, I can see how much I have progressed, post by post. It started with smaller things, but as I progressed, so did the complexity and creativity of my projects.

I’ve had the chance to dive into so many different areas that I never would have explored otherwise. I’ve learned so much about hardware and firmware. I've delved into the world of AI, not just reading about it, but actually using tools like Stable Diffusion and Whisper to create art and automate tasks. The opportunity for my team and I to take on three distinct AI/ML projects for the Cedars-Sinai National AI Campus Initiative was the ultimate culmination of my studies. It was a true trial by fire, moving beyond tutorials and into the complex, messy reality of applying cutting-edge technology to solve tangible problems.

The most profound takeaway from that experience is something I’m still trying to fully process. My team and I are genuinely mind-blown by the fact that we were able to automate portions of workflows for professionals who require over a decade of specialized training. It’s one thing to read about the potential of AI, but it’s another thing entirely to witness it firsthand, to build a system that can assist and augment the capabilities of experts in their field. That experience fundamentally shifted my perspective from seeing myself as a student of computer science to someone who can build tools with meaningful, real-world consequences.

As I look to the future, that feeling is what I want to chase. My work with Cedars-Sinai has ignited a passion for applying AI to solve complex problems in specialized domains. I want to continue working on projects that matter, to be part of a team that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible and empowers professionals to do their best work. This program gave me the skills, but the capstone gave me a mission.

This journal has been a companion through most of my journey. It’s been a place to document my progress, to reflect on my challenges, and to celebrate my successes. In the past I have been selective about keeping it up to date, but looking back it now really put a lot into perspective
